Jane Bowen

Artist Statement

Primarily self taught, Jane has been producing artwork in various mediums and exhibiting across Ontario since her first solo show in Elora, ON in 1989.

In addition to exploring the unique characteristics the encaustic medium offers she has also focussed more recently on abstracts in oil & cold wax. Assemblage with sculptural elements continues to be an area of her focus.

Her evolving artwork draws on her surroundings and daily life, evoking thoughtful contemplation.
